It's better to be lucky than to be good!

I learned about a new screencapture technique for Mac's today, so I looked about for a DVD to try it out on, and my eyes spied an unopened copy of “Thunderbirds”... So I opened it up and low and behold...

About 13 minutes in...

I spy Bill Paxton (right) wearing a watch with a familiar profile...

Bill Paxton appears to be wearing a TAG-Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen" Edition Monaco...

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere/previously, but I needed to refine this new technique anyway.

BTW for Mac OSX users, the technique involves using the 'screencapture -c' Unix command within the Terminal application to capture the screen while running the Apple supplied DVD Player application.

The Apple supplied DVD Player application usually blocks screen captures (likely for copyright reasons) via the normal Command-Shift-3 or Command-Shift-4 keystoke combinations. Executing the 'screencapture -c' command sidesteps this while allowing to use the DVD Player's superior slow speed play and frame by frame advance allowing a much easier capture of the content one is interested in.

This method was first reported on the MacFixIt website today, 8 February 2005.

As for my choice of DVD's to test this feature... I've always said it's better to be lucky than to be good!
